Types of FSSAI License Modifications
FSSAI recognizes two types of modifications for licensed food businesses:
Form C Modification
This type involves changes that affect the license certificate itself, including:
- Name of the FBO
- Address of the unit
- Business type
- License category
- Product details
Fee: ₹1,000 plus any additional license fee if production capacity changes due to expansion or upgradation.
Non-Form C Modification
This type covers changes that do not alter the certificate, such as:
- Updates to contact information
- Changes in nominated technical staff
- Director/partner/member details
Fee: No charge for Non-Form C modifications.
Step-by-Step Guide to Apply for FSSAI Modification
Step 1
Gather Documents
Collect all original documents and supporting proofs before starting the application.

Login to FoSCoS Portal
Visit the FoSCoS website, select “Modification of License and Registration”. Log in with your license/registration number or registered contact number.

Initiate Modification Application
Click “Modification” → “Apply for modification of license/registration” to start the process.
